Abstract

This research explores how effectively the principle of “Equal Pay for Equal Work” is practiced in Mumbai. It investigates wage variations between men and women in both formal and informal workspaces and evaluates the level of awareness regarding pay equality legislations. Using survey-based data, the study examines how education, work experience, and organizational policies contribute to wage inequality. Although laws exist to safeguard equal pay, the findings are expected to show that gender-based wage differences continue.
The study emphasizes the importance of stronger implementation, transparent pay structures, and gendersensitive workplace systems.
